Big Change on the SATs

The Board introduced Score Choice during the 1993-94 school year to give students more control. It allowed students to place their SAT II scores on hold until they had decided which scores to send to colleges and scholarship agencies that use the scores to assess achievement in particular subjects. More on McAteer and School of the Arts

McAteer Parent-Teacher-Student Association is dissolving. There will probably be some kind of end-of-the-year event for the students and faculty. The PTSA and the School Site Council are working on the plans for this: we'll keep you posted.

The Fine Points of Student Success Teams

In San Francisco Unified School District's most recent Professional Development Institute held March 11-16, presenters Howard Blonsky and Philip Bryan followed up their earlier presentations with a look at the fine points of facilitating the Student Success Team process.

Participants were given a chance to try successively the roles of team-member, time-keeper/recorder, and facilitator. Read more
