June 27th: "Summer School" will be the topic at the Community Advisory Committee for Special Education meeting June 27th from 7 to 9 pm at 300 Seneca Street, San Francisco CA 94112. Free childcare and translation services require a call to 469-4518. Otherwise come and add your voice.
Then in July and August, catch StudyBuddy's Teen Enrichment classes at San Bruno Park and Recreation. The Writers' Workshop is titled "Make People Care What You Say" and happens July 11 to August 15, Thursdays 10 to 11:30.
The Math Review is called "The Basics You Need to Run Your Life". It happens July 9 to August 13, Tuesdays from 10 to 11:30.
The cost for each is $58 for the series of six classes. Phone 650) 616-7180. The website is http://www.ci.sanbruno.ca.us/.
Incidentally, did any of you parents of teens catch Greg Evans' LuAnn Comic Strip titled "The School Fear Factor"? Cartoons were entitled, in sequence: Wake up 10 minutes late! Lift your backpack! Endure hallway hordes! Find your locker! Feel under your desk! Enter creepy girls' restroom! Dare to sit by cheerleader! Eat terrifying cafeteria food! Dissect frog! Wear skanky gym clothes! Reveal final grades!
It certainly gave ME chills. Have a cool summer....
