Resources Free from your Library

All you need is your library card number. Go to the San Francisco Public Library site and choose Articles and Databases from the main page. Scroll down to Encyclopedias & Dictionaries and you get, for free:

• Encyclopedia Britannica online
• Grove Music.com
• SYBWorld
• Oxford English Dictionary
• World Almanac

All this stuff normally requires a paid subscription. You get to cash in: your tax dollars at work!

Would you believe there's an actual movement called Take Back your Time? Honestly. And we all know you're time-starved, so check it out, not just to read about all the other people who are also time-starved, but to feel supported and get ideas on what could promote change.

And on that same subject, those of you with kids in the lower grades should check out SchoolKidz.com (PreK-8) which can ship you a kit tailored to meet everything your kid's teacher requests. Check it out. Also get you kid to check their kids' page on Internet Safety: it's a winner.
